Coffee Tonic

Coffee Tonic

This sparkling coffee tonic recipe is perfect for those looking to change up their usual coffee routine or for those looking for a great pick-me-up during the warmer months. It’s an easy-to-make drink that promises an invigorating mix of bitterness, sweetness, and fizz, making it an attractive choice for coffee lovers and beverage adventurers alike.

Ingredients:

– 1 cup of cold coffee (strong and chilled)

– 1 glass of tonic water (chilled)

– Ice cubes

– Optional: sweetener of your choice

– Optional: a wedge of lemon or lime for decoration

To make this invigorating drink, start by brewing a strong batch of cold brew coffee; strength is crucial as it must balance the sweetness and carbonation of the tonic water. Once your coffee is ready and chilled, fill a tall glass halfway with ice cubes, making sure it’s cold enough to keep the tonic water fizzing for a long time. Pour the chilled cold drink over ice, filling the glass about halfway. Slowly pour in the tonic, allowing the coffee to gently mix with the tonic. The carbonation of the tonic mixes with the coffee to create a layered effect that is as beautiful as it is delicious. For those who prefer a touch of sweetness, consider adding a sweetener of your choice to your coffee before adding your tonic water. Gently stir the mixture to combine the flavors, but do so gently to preserve the effervescence of the tonic. If desired, garnish the rim of the glass with a lemon or lime wedge to create a citrus flavor that complements the complex flavors of the drink.
